BTGA has recently completed the largest government-owned solar panel installation in the state of Rhode Island on the roof of the RI Public Transit Authority’s main bus barn on Elmgrove Ave. in Providence. This 90,000 SF project included a structural survey of the existing building and minor truss repair, re-roofing with a 30-yr LEED-appropriate membrane, and installing a complete ballasted 283KW, 1180 panel photo-voltaic array. The project was partially funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and required all components be US-made. The project bid well within budget, allowing all alternates to be selected.
