Goff Middle School - STEAM Wing

BTGA, was brought on board to convert three classrooms into a STEAM WING which would combine Robotics lab, Z-Space and Project Lead the Way into a one wing that facilitates multi-programming and collaboration.

Early design discussions involved understanding the vision for this steam wing, space planning requirements and goals of the different teaching activities in this wing. BTGA worked closely to develop an understanding of how current programs functioned and identifying design features that could facilitate the interdisciplinary and collaborative teaching style.

The redesign of the three classrooms included operable partitions to facilitate different class sizes and teaching styles, cord reels and furniture on casters for re arrangement and ceiling clouds for better acoustics. Window AC units were installed versus design of HVAC system to meet project budget requirements.
