BTGA is hiring an architectural JOB CAPTAIN
Brewster Thornton Group Architects, LLP in Providence is looking to add a full-time Architectural Job Captain. The successful candidate will already have several years’ experience in Revit and residential wood-frame projects. We can offer the potential applicant a role in interesting projects, a chance to develop further professionally and work with knowledgeable coworkers, a congenial and professional environment, an urban office location, and good benefits.
You will work alongside other architects and designer/drafters in an open office where you will be systematically trained to take on increasing project responsibility. BTGA strongly encourages the professional success of our staff and reviews your progress regularly. Project teams are kept consistent through the drawing and construction processes. We would welcome your experience in helping develop projects that combine good design with sound building practices.
The hourly pay rate and project duties will be based on your education and experience, as well as your ability to move projects forward. We prefer local candidates and expect the successful candidate to work from our main office. While there is some flexibility in the working hours, this is not a telecommuting position.
Responsibilities and Duties of the Architectural Job Captain
As a Job Captain, you would be expected to:
Measure buildings and prepare base plans and elevations.
Prepare concept presentations by hand.
Prepare and modify Sketchup models to reflect the scheme.
Draft construction documents in Revit and/or CAD.
Qualifications and Skills of the Architectural Job Captain
Candidate must have a BArch or MArch professional degree with three years of experience in detailed wood-frame residential projects. Specifically, we are looking for someone who:
Has a demonstrated commitment to good design.
Has Revit construction document experience (preferred)
Is comfortable working in a team environment.
Possesses clear and effective communication skills.
Is familiar with construction documents and details and drafts well..
Is moving through the AXP process toward licensing.
