BTGA has an overarching commitment to the professional client relationship – one in which we lend our expertise as advisors to your building process.
Our buildings reflect our client’s goals, supported with strong design skills and thorough project administration. We strive to be active problem-solvers, diplomatic advisors, speedy facilitators, and careful listeners.
BTGA understands the priorities of cost and schedule. We pride ourselves on providing good design with clear technical and professional expertise, while meeting cost constraints. We give immediate cost feedback on decision items, and advise our clients on least-cost alternatives. We enjoy working on small as well as large scale projects.
Mary Dorsey Brewster AIA founded this practice in 1989. Her design work has centered on traditionally-inspired custom residential architecture, and on working with clients on a collaborative basis to create personal projects. Both her new and renovation projects reflect her interest in finely proportioned and detailed spaces that enhance life within.
An education in both architecture and business from MIT has enabled Barbara to create a professional and ethical architectural practice with strong business underpinnings. She is the second founding partner at BTGA, and has helped structure our growth and success. Her expertise with building science and moisture management has been instrumental in solving numerous historic building issues.
Nate received a professional degree from The Boston Architectural College and a Master's degree from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. His passion for functional community institutions and his regionally informed modern design sensibility have guided his projects to successful completion.
Pat is passionate about creating responsive, functional, livable spaces and drawing projects that translate well into a buildable reality. He has a comprehensive understanding of residential design and construction and brings a depth of critical thinking to each project.
