Ms. Thornton, while at DPA, was the Project Architect and designer for 40 units of infill rental housing developed by the Interfaith Council of Churches to fill a critical housing need. The “triple-deckers” were designed to fit into the West End context, including 12:12 pitch roofs, while being prefabricated in 6 parts for single-day assembly on-site. Local labor completed the exterior skin, foundations, and site work.
