BTGA has extensive experience with institutional and ecclesiastical design, including feasibility studies, asset surveys, master planning, and design for church renovations, assembly space buildings, daycare facilities, and parochial school additions. Projects have included:
ST. ANN CHURCH & SCHOOL, PROVIDENCE – After a review of conditions & planned repairs by their building committee, St. Ann asked BTGA to develop scope descriptions, estimate costs, & prepare a funding presentation for the Diocese. Receiving a positive response to BTGA’s report, St. Ann’s proceeded to raise funds and complete work items as pledges were received. Items done to date include roof repairs to the main church, enclosure of a furnace room in the school, and roof work at the school gym. Still in process are replacement of doors at the church and rectory, ventilation and fire alarm upgrades for the school, parking lot repairs, and repairs within the rectory/office building.
ST. JOSEPH PARISH, FAIRHAVEN MA – Retained BTGA to evaluate alternatives to consolidate their offices & rectory with the main church and school, ½ mile away, & to provide a parish hall facility. Developed several schematic design options to allow cost estimating, including a separate parish building with rectory on an adjacent vacant lot owned by the church. A lower cost option, a rectory/office building attached to the church, was created given the ability to reconfigure existing parking. In the church, we were asked to develop options for improved choir seating, handicapped access, ventilation within the upper nave, upgrades to the lower church, improved lighting, and new ecclesiastical elements for the altar area, including new ambo, tabernacle screen, font locations, suspended crucifix & relocated altar. We worked with a liturgical designer/woodwork firm to produce designs for these sacred objects as a focus of the fundraising campaign. Included interior renderings & on-site mock-ups to illustrate proposed lighting improvements.
ST. PETER’S PARISH, WARWICK – BTGA completed design of a multi-purpose building for use by St. Peter’s to resolve needs for both assembly & recreation space for the growing pre-K – 8 school facility. Located in a parking lot between the church and the school, complimentary uses are planned. Warming kitchen, ample storage, separate heating and cooling equipment, & multiple toilets are included. An alternate design with two additional classrooms was also developed. Feasibility planning for the building included multiple site, use categories, & parking scenarios to comply with Warwick’s building & zoning requirements. Early -stage documentation included working with the parish fund-raising consultant to provide plans and a perspective color rendering for use in the campaign.
BTGA is also currently beginning a project with Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.
