JOHNSON & WALES, MASONRY RESTORATION PROJECTS – BTGA recently completed construction documents for two masonry restoration projects for J&W. Both jobs were completed within budget during the summer of 2005. One included extensive terracotta restoration.
BROWN UNIVERSITY FRESHMAN DORM LOUNGE – During summer 2006, BTGA assisted in the refurbishment of 6 freshman dorm lounges with finishes and furniture selection.
BROWN UNIVERSITY, CHURCHILL HOUSE – In 2004, BTGA converted classroom space in Churchill House at Brown University to faculty offices, including furnishing selection & purchasing assistance. The entire project was completed under extremely tight time constraints – we produced the construction documents in April, went out for bid in May, and completed construction for August 18th occupancy. BTGA is now working again on Churchill House: 2nd floor renovations for 2006, basement in 2007.
JOHNSON & WALES, XAVIER HALL – In 2001, BTGA designed an adaptive reuse of Xavier Gymnasium into 3 tiered classrooms and reception area. State of the art audio visual design and divisible team classrooms were programmed. Fire protection and alarm upgrades for this historic masonry building were also included in the work. Difficult site access and time constraints which led to bid premiums, as well as reduced classroom demand in the Business School placed the project on hold. Project also included the renovation of 35 faculty office areas in the existing Xavier Academy Hall, including interior furnishings and purchasing coordination. The project opened on time & on budget.
JOHNSON & WALES, SECURITY OFFICES - In 2003, we renovated a Weybosset St. building to become a J&W security dispatch center. Set in downtown Providence and centrally located for the urban university, the Security Office presents a public and accessible location to meet all the security needs of the students and faculty.
JOHNSON & WALES, FACULTY RESOURCE CENTER – In 2002, we completed design and construction of a new Faculty Resource Center in the University’s Xavier Hall.
