Neighborhood Revitalization -
Dartmouth Avenue

BTGA completed a feasibility study for the Elmwood Foundation regarding the possibility of renovating an entire block of historic homes as affordable housing units. When the study demonstrated that the block could be revitalized by creating lovely owner-occupied buildings of 2 units each with individual driveway access and subdivided lots, BTGA was asked to complete the renovation, including relocation of the single family house crowded at the rear of the 16-18 Dartmouth lot to a vacant lot at nearby 54 Laura Street. Winner of the 2005 Historic Preservation Award from the Providence Preservation Society.
